Wunder Local Delivery guide

How to manage local-delivery drivers from Shopify

Drivers need a narrow, accurate view of the delivery day. They do not need a second copy of your complete order-management system.

Keep Shopify as the source of truth

Assign delivery work from the operational view of each Shopify order. The driver experience should show the information required for the route while keeping order status connected to Shopify.

Show only assigned orders

Driver-filtered access reduces noise and supports privacy. Authentication should be appropriate for mobile use, and access should be removable when a driver no longer needs it.

Design for the roadside moment

Today and Tomorrow views are easier to use than a large searchable archive. Prioritise the address, delivery time, recipient contact actions and any essential delivery notes.

Calling and WhatsApp links can reduce copying on a phone. A QR code on printed dispatch paperwork can bridge a physical hand-off to the relevant digital order.

Make completion meaningful

A Complete order action should do more than remove an item from the driver’s list. It should feed the agreed fulfilment update back to Shopify so support and operations teams see the same state.

Plan for exceptions

Decide what a driver should do when a recipient is unavailable, an address is incorrect or a delivery cannot be completed. Keep those exception paths simple and avoid asking the driver to edit unrelated order data.

Wunder Local Delivery’s driver portal follows this principle: it is a secure, driver-filtered view of Wunder Local Delivery’s Shopify orders.
