Where apps keep their data
Six places a delivery date can hide.
Shopify gives apps several places to store checkout information. The mapping layer exists because no two apps choose the same one.
Order attributes
Name and value pairs on the order — for example, Zapiet records its dates under the order’s Additional details.
Cart attributes
Values captured against the cart during checkout that arrive with the order.
Line-item properties
Details attached to an individual product line, such as a per-product option.
Order metafields
Structured custom fields stored against the order.
App-owned metafields

Field names differ from shop to shop even within one app, so you point Wunder Delivery at yours rather than trusting a guess. Delivery information kept outside these apps can be mapped the same way.
No delivery app at all?
Your Shopify shipping rates will do.
Plenty of shops never installed a date picker — they set up shipping rates like “Next-day delivery” or “Saturday morning” and leave it there.
Wunder Delivery can fall back to the name of the shipping option your customer chose, so your printed documents show something useful instead of a blank. If you add a delivery app later, its answer takes over automatically.

Integration work covers Zapiet, Pickeasy, Bird and Stellar. Supported fields and availability differ by app and are stated on each integration page. Custom field mapping is also part of the integration approach, so delivery information stored against your orders can be mapped into consistent Wunder variables.
