Editing a gift message after the order is placed
Fix a typo, a wrong name or an unsuitable message before it prints — and understand why the corrected text appears on your cards but not everywhere in Shopify.
Customers make mistakes. They spell the recipient’s name wrong, they paste the message twice, or they ring you an hour later to change it. You need to fix that before the card prints.
Editing on the print page
Open the order on the Print page. The card preview is directly editable — click into it, correct the text, and it prints with your correction.
When an order has several messages, the card deck’s numbered navigation lets you edit each one individually.
Printing always uses the latest text.
Why this is not simply “edit the order in Shopify”
A message captured on a product page is stored as a line-item property, and Shopify does not allow those to be changed once the order exists. This is a Shopify rule, not a limitation of this app — it is also why merchants using other gift-message apps are told the message is final.
Wunder Delivery stores your correction separately and prints that instead.
Because the original line-item property cannot be changed, the Shopify order page keeps showing the message your customer typed. Your correction appears on Wunder Delivery's printed documents and in the app.
The practical consequence: if a colleague is reading the message off the Shopify order page rather than the dispatch sheet, they will see the uncorrected text. Print the card from Wunder Delivery and pack from the dispatch sheet.
A message added once for the whole cart, or the order note, behaves differently — those are order-level and can be edited normally.
Turning the fields on in the order editor
If your staff work in the Shopify order editor, Settings → Widgets has a Show in order editor checkbox per block that puts the Wunder fields into that dialog. The card message card there carries a note explaining the behaviour above.
