Getting started

Add your drivers and give them their portal address

Create a driver record, get their phone number right, choose your portal web address, and understand what each driver will and will not be able to see.

Drivers never sign in to Shopify. They use a separate web address on their phone, they see only the orders assigned to them, and they cannot reach anything else in your store.

Add a driver

  1. In Wunder Delivery, go to Settings → Drivers.
  2. Press Add driver.
  3. Fill in the dialog and save.

You are asked for:

  • Name — how the driver appears everywhere in the app.
  • Phone — this is their login. See the warning below.
  • Vehicle — optional, for your own reference.
  • Notes — optional.
  • Active — untick to stop a driver signing in without deleting their record.

The app gives each driver a tag such as driver001. That tag is how orders get assigned. You do not type it yourself and you cannot edit it — it is shown on the roster so you can recognise it on an order.

The phone number is the login — get it exactly right

The driver signs in with this number and a code sent by text. If it is wrong by one digit they simply cannot get in, and nothing on your side will look broken.

The phone field works like a checkout phone field: type a few digits and a country flag appears, which opens a full country list. Picking a country rewrites the number with that dialling code and drops a leading zero where that country uses one. The box always shows the number that will actually be saved — read it back before you save, because you are transcribing somebody else's number.

Choose your portal address

On the same settings page there is a Driver portal URL card. Your drivers’ address is driver.wunderdelivery.com/ followed by a short name you choose — something like driver.wunderdelivery.com/bloomandco.

Pick something short. Your drivers will type it on a phone.

Changing it later is safe

If you change the name, links using the old one redirect to the new one. Drivers who bookmarked the old address will still get through.

Plan limits on driver accounts

Each plan includes a number of driver accounts: 3 on Essential, 5 on Growth, 10 on Automate, 25 on Enterprise. The roster shows how many you have used against your allowance.

Branding

On Automate and Enterprise, the Driver portal branding card lets you put your own logo and colours on the portal your drivers see. Essential and Growth use the standard portal.

What a driver can see

This is worth being clear about, because it is the question merchants ask most often.

A signed-in driver sees only the orders carrying their own tag, for the day being viewed. For each of those they see what they need to deliver it: the recipient, the address, the phone number, and the delivery details.

They do not see your other orders, your customers, your products, your revenue, or anything in your Shopify admin. The portal is not a login to your store — it is a filtered list, and the filter is applied before the data reaches their phone.

Deactivating a driver does not unassign their orders

If you untick Active mid-day, that driver can no longer sign in — but any orders already carrying their tag still belong to them as far as the rest of the app is concerned, so those orders will not show as unassigned. Move the tag to another driver if the work needs to be picked up.
