Assigning orders to drivers
How assignment actually works, how to give a whole round to one driver in a few clicks, and the tag behaviour that quietly puts an order in two rounds.
Assignment in Wunder Delivery is done with tags. Each driver has a tag such as driver001, created for you when you add them. Putting that tag on an order assigns it.
Assigning a round
- Open Orders and pick the day.
- Tick every order for that driver.
- Press Manage tags.
- Add the driver’s tag.
- Confirm.
That is the whole job. The driver sees those orders on their phone within moments.
The dashboard's Review unassigned orders button opens the order list filtered to the day's orders with no driver — which is usually exactly the list you want to work through.
Adding a tag does not remove the old one
If an order already carries driver001 and you add driver002, it now has both — and it genuinely appears in both drivers' rounds on their phones. Nothing warns you.
To move an order rather than share it, remove the old tag in the same Manage tags dialog. The confirmation screen shows exactly what will be added and removed, so check it before saving.
This is sometimes what you want — two people working one large delivery together. But it is rarely what someone means when they say “reassign”.
On the dashboard, per-driver totals can add up to more than the day's total, because a double-tagged order is counted in both rounds. The day's own total counts orders. Both numbers are correct.
Unassigning
Remove the driver tag. The order returns to the unassigned count and disappears from that driver’s phone.
Unticking Active on a driver stops them signing in, but orders carrying their tag still count as assigned everywhere in the app. If a driver goes off sick, move their tags as well as deactivating them.
Watching the round
The dispatch map shows each driver’s stops and their progress through the day as delivered / total.
