Tell Wunder Delivery how your delivery dates are written
The one setting that decides whether the app finds your orders. Get it wrong and every screen looks empty — with no error message to explain why.
This is the most important five minutes of your setup. If you read one help page before you start, read this one.
Why this setting exists
Wunder Delivery does not ask your customers for a delivery date. Your checkout app already does that — Zapiet, Pickeasy, Bird, Stellar, or whichever one you use. When a customer picks a date, that app writes it onto the Shopify order as a tag, something like 2026-08-30.
Wunder Delivery finds each day’s work by searching for that tag. And here is the catch: Shopify tag search matches whole tags exactly. There are no wildcards and no fuzzy matching. If your app writes 30/08/2026 and Wunder Delivery is looking for 2026-08-30, it finds nothing. Not fewer orders — nothing.
There is no error, no warning and no empty-state message explaining the cause. Every date-based screen — the dashboard, Orders, Dispatch, Print, Invoice — simply shows zero orders, as though you had no deliveries that day. A brand-new store looks identical to a broken setting. This is the single most common reason a new install appears not to work.
Find out what your app actually writes
Do not guess. Look at a real order.
- In your Shopify admin, open Orders.
- Open any recent order that has a delivery date.
- Look at the Tags on that order.
- Find the one that is a date, and note its exact shape — the separators and the order of day, month and year.
A tag of 2026-08-30 is year-month-day with hyphens. A tag of 30/08/2026 is day-month-year with slashes. Those are different settings.
Set it in Wunder Delivery
- Open Wunder Delivery from your Shopify admin.
- Go to Settings → Orders.
- Find Delivery date tag format.
- Pick the option that matches what you just saw on the real order.
- Save.
There are seven options:
| Option | Looks like |
|---|---|
| YYYY-MM-DD (International) | 2026-08-30 |
| MM-DD-YYYY (American) | 08-30-2026 |
| DD-MM-YYYY (Canadian and European) | 30-08-2026 |
| MM/DD/YYYY (American) | 08/30/2026 |
| DD/MM/YYYY (Canadian and European) | 30/08/2026 |
| YYYY/MM/DD (International) | 2026/08/30 |
| DD MMM YYYY | 30 Aug 2026 |
The default is YYYY-MM-DD (International), because that is what Zapiet writes unless it has been changed. If you use Zapiet and have never touched its date format, the default is probably already right — but check a real order anyway.
Most settings in that part of the app apply only to the computer you are sitting at. This one does not — it describes your other delivery app, which is the same for everyone. Change it once and it applies to every staff member and every browser.
Check it worked
Go back to the dashboard. Pick a day you know has deliveries. The orders should appear.
If the day is still empty, the format is still wrong, or the tag on that order is not what you thought. Open the order again and compare character by character — a leading zero or a different separator is enough to break the match.
Wunder Delivery searches using zero-padded dates — 08 rather than 8. Every known delivery app writes them that way too. If yours writes 3 Aug 2026 rather than 03 Aug 2026, the search will not find it. Tell us if you hit this — it needs a new format option rather than a setting you can change yourself.
If you change your delivery app later
Changing to a different checkout app usually means the date tags change shape too. Come back to this setting when you do. Old orders keep their old tags, so a change mid-life means older days may stop appearing while new ones work — that is expected, and it is not a bug in either app.
