Why doesn’t Shopify capture a gift message at checkout?
There is no native gift-message field. Merchants bolt on cart notes or product-page line-item properties, and messages captured as line-item properties cannot be edited in the standard Shopify admin once the order exists — a typo lives on until it is printed on the card.
How Wunder Delivery solves it: Wunder Delivery captures a gift message once for the whole order on every plan, and a separate message per product from the Growth plan. Either stays editable after checkout, and printing always uses the latest approved version.

Shopify does not require the buyer’s own phone number on a gift order. When something needs confirming — a message typo, an unclear address — there is often no way to reach the person who actually placed and paid for the order.
How Wunder Delivery solves it: Wunder Delivery captures required buyer name and phone as part of the order flow, kept separate from recipient details, so your team can always reach the person who can answer.

How Wunder Delivery solves it: Buyer and recipient are separate, structured data in Wunder Delivery. Print templates and the driver portal use recipient details for the doorstep and buyer details for contact — consistently, on every surface.
