Printing problems
Wrong size, missing sheets, missing messages, a dialog that will not go away, or a job that seems to hang — sorted by what you are seeing.
Find the symptom you have.
A print dialog appears for every document
That is browser printing working as intended. Browsers do not let a web page send a job straight to a printer.
To remove the dialog you need either PrintNode or QZ Tray. See choosing how you print.
The envelope prints tiny on a big sheet
The printer did not recognise the paper size and fell back to its own default.
Go to Settings → Print → General and look at the paper size row under that document’s printer. If it says Pick a paper, choose one from the dropdown. The warning also appears on the print page at print time.
A long message is being cut off
With the document set to New page or Double-sided, only the toolbar Print produces the extra sheets when you are using browser printing. The per-document printer icon still produces one clipped sheet.
PrintNode and QZ Tray produce every sheet correctly on every route.
Gift messages are missing from the cards
Product messages, the cart message and the order note each have their own variable. A template missing one will not print that kind of message, even though you can see it on the order.
Open Settings → Print → Card and check. The default template includes all of them; a template customised a while ago may not.
Printing seems to hang, then a job is reported as parked
This is QZ Tray with an unanswered permission prompt.
A prompt that times out can still reach paper afterwards, and QZ gives no confirmation either way. Rather than retry automatically and risk duplicate paper, the app parks the job.
Answer the prompt, check whether anything came out, and use Retry only if it did not.
To stop the prompts entirely, the silent-printing certificate needs to be in place — see setting up QZ Tray.
The back of double-sided sheets is upside-down
Change the Flip edge setting for that document — Long edge for upright pages, Short edge for notepad style.
The two work the binding edge out differently, so on an unusual paper size they can turn the sheet opposite ways. If you use both, test each rather than assuming they match.
A document looks right in the app but wrong from Shopify’s print menu
It runs in a sandbox with no access to browser storage, so it renders the store-wide copy regardless of what this computer is set to. If you have been editing a Local template, that is why the two differ.
Move your edits to Global, or print from inside Wunder Delivery.
The template looks right on screen and prints wrong
A printed sheet is not a browser window. Any styling that only applies below a certain screen width will look correct on your laptop and print incorrectly. This is the usual cause of "it looks fine until I print it".
Tracing a specific job
Settings → Print → General has a Print diagnostics panel recording exactly what was sent for each job — paper, scaling, copies, duplex. It survives closing the tab. Check it before contacting us.
